This class is already pretty stressful, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I think the observational drawing will be easy to include, because I have so many oportunities to work on them. Not only am I taking this Art Portfolio class, but also a drawing class where we will also be doing observational drawings. The piece that will most likely be difficult for me, would be the figure drawing because there is so much detail in the subjects. Nothing suprised me about this list. They just want to make sure you have variety in your work. I will use the meduim paint for some of my pieces. I would really like to explore with the medium charcoal. As for now, I am thinking of showing my portfolio to Columbia Art Institute in Chicago, though I don't have set plans yet.

  1. I agree with you that the class is extremely stressful, but if you stay focused and don't get behind then in the end you will be so proud of yourself and you will have an impressive portfolio to show for it. Continue to keep up the good work and I am sure that Columbia Art Institute will be glad to have you:)

  2. Figure drawing can be difficult, but if you follow Mrs.Wysefishy's tips on drawing what you "see" not what you know you see, than I think you can do it!!!!!!! I also think exploring in charcoal is a good choice for you. Your a talented young lady.

  3. I think it's great that you have so much confidence in drawing from real life. It seems to be the main problem for the majority of us! I also believe it's a good idea to take extra classes to further develope good drawing skills. I just hope that the class won't make Portfolio any more stressful than it already is! But I think you could pull it off and im excited to see more of your work!

  4. The combination of this with drawing will be great for you Amber! I would like to read more about what you thought of each item that needs to be included, and if you have any ideas of how to include them for this semester. Keep up the good work!
